Updates on OUR temple!

One of the blessings of having Thomas in the High Council is that we hear some of the updates of the temple early.  Thomas came home the other day and said that they had been told that the stone work for the temple would be coming in within the next two days.  He said that they had been shown pictures of semi-trucks loaded down with the pre-cast stone for the temple.

We hurried down and took some pics of the temple before the next phase of construction started.

He also said that he had an idea of where they were storing the stone until it was ready to be put up . . . about a half mile from our house.  Of course I had to go for a little drive and see if I could get close enough to get some good pics.

Sure enough, two days later the walls started going up.  Almost daily you hear stories of more semi-trucks on Brigham City streets carrying more pieces of the walls.  Each peice is only half as tall as the temple and about an 1/8th of one side of the temple.  Obviously, it's going to take alot of truck loads to get it all in!

Here's what it looks like as of Thursday evening:

Can I just say how this building has changed a community!  There is a buzz around town . . . everyone is talking about how beautiful it is beginning to look, speculating about dates of completion, and debating about weather or not the trees in front are going to remain!  We have been told by the Stake President, that Angel Moroni will be arriving around June 27th!  Our family is so excited to have such a special building in our little town!

A relaxing Sunday!

I love General Conference Weekend.  There were so many fabulous talks that really want you to work harder at being a better mom, wife, friend and church member.  Our favorite quote this weekend was:

"Preach the Gospel at all times, and if necessary, use words"  -Deiter F. Uchtdorf

Loved, loved, loved Bishop Burton's talk about his sweet wife.  What an honor it would be if my husband could say the same things about me.  I want to be like Bishop Burton's wife Jeanine.

We also like the talk about tithing and the first two talks Sunday morning about serving those in need.  President Monsen's talk about temples was also a favorite!  His talk inspired us to take a drive/walk to our own temple currently under construction.  It is going to be so  beautiful!

This is the Brigham City Tabernacle, directly
across the street from the Temple.

Max hangin' out with dad after conference!  We are so blessed to have such an amazing opportunity to hear from our living prophets.  Their testimonies are such a strength to me. What an incredible weekend!

Doing what we do best!

A little taste of us . . . doing what we do best!

Max . . . being absolutely adorable!

This was taken at Stephanie's bbq birthday party Saturday.  What a day for a barbecue!  We FROZE!
Marshall doing some gymnastics!  He started gymnastics class a couple of weeks.  This prompted mom to put a new family rule into effect . . . NO GYMNASTICS in the house!  I'll let you use your imagination on why such a rule was needed!

Abby being a princess.
She took a Princess Practice class at the Peak.  She went once a week for 5 weeks.  Each week she got to dress up in her tutus and wings and crown and learn about princesses.  Here she is at Princess Practice graduation:

Princesses can balance a cup on their heads (as long as they stick their tongue out a little)

Princesses drink with their pinky finger in the air!

Princess Practice teacher Jen
Ben, Stephanie, and Dad all got bikes for their birthdays!  So we spent some time remembering how to ride our bikes!  Only one minor crash incident from . . . you guessed it, Marshall!  He'll be fine as soon as he forgets where all the scabs are!

And here's the whole family (minus Benjamin . . . he had some other obligations) at Kite Day put on by Brigham City's Sights and Sounds of Brigham!

The first 900 kids got to make their own kites (are there even 900 kids in Brigham?????)

Again, here is poor Max in the stinkin' cold spring weather!
Why do we do things in the cold???

Did I mention it was cold?????
Time to test out the kites!

There was a guy flying a string of kites . . . hey look, there is my house behind those kites!

You should NEVER fly kites when there is snow on the mountains!

There is always one kite in a tree!  This one was Stephanie's!

And all of us Parachute racing!  This was a BLAST, and harder than you would think.  You start running, the parachute fills with air and whoosh!  SOOOO much fun!

Never, I repeat, Never give Thomas the camera to "hold"!!!!
